From the time Harriss Architects was founded in 1993, we have been involved in many phases of hospital and clinic architecture. Operating within a structure that is essentially corporate, it becomes critical to understand both the structure of the corporation and the constantly evolving myriad of technical components of health care design.
Much of our work is in renovation, whether working with clinics or hospitals. In these cases, a thorough knowledge of healthcare codes and regulatory standards is essential. In addition, the ability to work with a number of consultants and facility managers is crucial.
We recently have embarked on a major effort to integrate facilities management with our practice. There is no building type more suited to this practice than a healthcare facility. Our facilities management tools allow us to document floor plans, HVAC, technical equipment, and furnishings. These are all integrated into a single, easy to access database. |
