	As a cornerstone of our practice, Architecture for Education offers unique challenges and opportunities. Often designed and constructed on fast-track schedules and as components of phased Master Plans, school facility design must take into consideration a wide range of issues. Included in these are the integration of site and building design with a particular school curriculum, teaching method, and student profile. All issues, however, are examined within the framework of the construction budget. Harriss Architects places particular emphasis on establishing a construction budget early on in the process and formulating an estimate for construction that must be closely followed. In addition, such issues as flexibility for technology, furnishing and equipment selection, life-cycle costing, and sustainable design are also considered.
